Murdered by gangsters and turned away from the after-life, he was instead inhabited by a ghostly spirit with a green cloak, which often emerged from his body to right wrongs, combat evil, and pass judgment.This is one of the second highest-graded copies of this classic issue and is from the highly regarded Nova Scotia pedigree. A truly lovely copy of a classic book, the bright colors are strong and effusive and the dark colors are deep and solid, the entire package is in very impressive shape as the Spectre marches forward at the fore of a great battle, crushing airplanes like King Kong. This cover brings to mind a classic scene from “Watchmen” where Doctor Manhattan wreaks similar havoc on the Viet Cong. This Bernard Baily cover is a favorite of Golden Age DC fans and collectors.
