Greg and Tim Hildebrandt acrylics on board; 19.5" x 27.5"Catherine Lucille Moore was among the first women to write science fiction and fantasy. She used multiple pseudonyms, but her most popular was C.L. Moore. Her first stories were printed in pulp magazines during the 1930's, and soon after they began to appear in other publications like "Weird Tales" and "Astounding Science Fiction" magazine. In 1940 she married Henry Kuttner, and from then on, they wrote the majority of their stories together.
In 1980, Ballantine Del Rey Books published "The Best of C.L. Moore," a collection of 10 of her short stories. Greg and Tim were given the opportunity to paint the cover, which depicts an elegant female character from one of her stories.
