WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
"Metropolis' grading is what makes them head and shoulders above the [business name omitted]s and [business name omitted]s of the industry. I have bought many books and I mean many that other dealers would grade (and price) a full point higher than how Metropolis would strictly grade. I always look to Metropolis first when buying any key book."

The Metropolis Survey

I hope everyone has been having a great time collecting this fall. I have been very successful with my buying as you will see by checking out this months update.I have been buying oodles of books and I hope you find something of interest on the sight. We are currently working on our first catalog so if you would like a copy email me your address and I will add you to the mailing list. If you have not done so already, please email me your want list- serious buyers wanted! I have noticed an increased interest in low grade gold, especially #1's. Many mid and low grade DC books have been moving well. Low grade 50's Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman books have also been going. I just bought a large run of low to mid grade Wonder Woman and Sensation's that I did not get up on the site but if you email me I can let you know what is available. As usual high grade horror is moving- the higher the grade and cooler the cover the quicker they go! EC's have been a bit slow, however I just got a small grouping of them in that also did not make it on the site- so once again if you have any interest email me. Classics have been selling at a medium pace. 1st printings do well when priced fairly. Dell's and Gold Key's have been slow… Once again I just got in a run of Magnus 2, 3, 5-10 Mohawk Valley Copies all in NM condition and 11-28 NM File Copies. Please email me if interested- these books took a big hit in the last price guide so they are a good deal even at around 1.65x's guide which is what they will go for.

70's Marvel's and DC's continue to cook - I love these books! They remind me of the 60's books before they went crazy in the guide. They are affordable and have cool stories and artwork. Just a side note here my favorite comic book is Marvel Two-In-One #5 featuring Cap, Thing and the Guardians of the Galaxy fighting the "Ooo La La" Badoon. A great story with cool fight scenes especially when the Thing kicks the crap out of the Monster of Badoon! 70's DC horror is flying, basically all of the titles are moving very well here. Collectors keep coming back for more and more of the Oakland Collection… my partner on the purchase of the collection dubbed them the Mile High's of the mid 60's and early 70's! At first I thought this was funny but after seeing how the word of mouth has spread I find myself agreeing with this statement more and more- what do those of you who have purchased Oak's think?

Silver Age Marvel and DC collectors continue to be the toughest to please but we keep trying. We would love to buy a large early high grade collection but have not been lucky as of yet- Please let me know if you want to sell your high grade silver age- email me grades and prices.

The next conventions I will be attending are NY's Big Apple Comic Con Nov. 13th & Nov. 14th and the Boston Con Dec. 6th. I hope to see you at the shows- let's end the year off with a bang! Have a Happy Thanksgiving, gobble, gobble!

On a more personal note I want to send out a cyber-get well to my mom who is recovering from a heart valve replacement operation and has had some complications. She is doing well but any and all prayers are greatly appreciated.
