Heating up for the Summer!

Dear Collectors,

What's heating up? Titles like Hot Stuff (no pun intended), Casper, Dotty Dripple, Little Dot, Wendy the Witch, Little Lotta, Little Max, Little Audrey, Spooky, and everybody's favorite poor little rich boy Richie Rich are in high demand. Even though there are a lot of Harvey file copies out there, they usually are from later or horror titles. These issues are scarce and cheap in price guides. Great upside investment potential. Comics with covers by L.B. Cole have cooled off a bit over the last few years. There was a time when anything by L.B. Cole sold very quickly. I think right now is a great time to go after these comics. They are beautiful works of art, and you can actually find them.

DC Silver Age comics are scarcer than their Marvel counterparts and somewhat more affordable. I believe everything goes in cycles and it is only a matter of time until DCs are red hot. This may only occur when DC launches a new super-hero movie. That seems to be happening, so get ready.

Sales for this month include the following- Batman #9 in CGC 9.4 (NM): $16,800, Amazing Spider-Man #239 in CGC 9.8 (NM/M): $225, X-Men #4 in CGC 9.0 (VF/NM): $1,350, Fantastic Four Vol. 1, #1 in unslabbed VG: $1,995,Amazing Spider-Man #1 in CGC 9.4 (NM) Bethlehem Copy, slight professional restoration: $6,500.

Advice for bargain hunters: Collect what you like! I can't say it enough. Some collectors have no love for the hobby and only buy for investment. While this is fine, it helps to actually like what you are buying in case the investment aspect of it does not pan out the way you hoped. I make a point of maintaining over 25,000 comics in a section of my website for bargain hunters; I am sure there is something there for you.

Sincerely,

Vincent Zurzolo
