"Bringing the Suscha News collection to the market pretty much jumpstarted the Bronze collecting craze," mused Metropolis COO Vincent Zurzolo. "It's been a long time since I've seen the kind of frenzy that these books set off when they first were released, and they've been getting great results at auction ever since."
For those unaware or new to the hobby, the Suscha collection is one of the finest, if not the finest, original owner Bronze Age pedigrees to be released to the comic collecting market. Carefully selected by the original owner from stacks of unread and brand-new comics through the early 70s and lovingly stored throughout the following decades to preserve their pristine condition, these beautiful comics caused a sensation when first revealed in late 2010 and have been selling like hotcakes ever since. "The sheer number of books is overwhelming," said Metropolis Sales Director Frank Cwiklik. "We've been diligently chipping away at them for the past couple of years, but we're still, believe it or not, digging our way out from under mountains of stuff trying to get these all out of their boxes and into the hands of collectors who are clamoring for them."
As a result, new Suschas hit the Metro site almost daily. Those who think the collection has been exhausted will be pleasantly surprised by some of the goodies that have come to light in recent weeks, including some highest-graded Marvels, some DC Silver Age books that are tough to find in high grade, and even some raw goodies for pedigree hounds on a budget.
