X-Men #266 features the first full appearance of Gambit, and ushers in one of the biggest stars of Marvel's recent years. Both fans and investors are seeing a bright future for the Cajun mutant with kinetic powers — with Channing Tatum finally bringing to the character to life in the smash hit Deadpool & Wolverine. That was after Gambit's solo film had fallen apart in development over several years. Of course, Marvel Studios has since recovered the screen rights to the X-Men. Now, with Marvel confirming that the character survived Deadpool & Wolverine, Gambit appears set to break out big as a pop-culture figure.


Artist Information

Josef "Joe" Rubinstein is a comic book artist and inker, most associated with inking Marvel Comics' The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe and the 1982 four-issue Wolverine miniseries by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller. He is also known to be the one to have given artist Art Adams his first professional work.
