DESCRIPTION
October, 1933; Howard Conan story; classic Brundage bat-woman cover; Lovecraft reprint of "Festival" from 1925 Weird Tales; One of the most highly sought-after pulps of all time.
intact red spine
The October 1933 issue of Weird Tales is an absolute classic. This issue features an iconic Bat-Woman cover by Margaret Brundage. This striking cover shows why Brundage was the favorite artist for Weird Tales during it's original run. It is beautiful, Gothic, and spooky and stuck in the public consciousness for decades.
This issue features "The Pool of the Black One" by Robert E. Howard, a Conan novelette. All early Conan issues are highly sought-after by pulp collectors. This issue also features the Jules de Grandin novelette "The Mansion of Unholy Magic" by Seabury Quinn, "The Seed from the Sepulcher" by Clark Ashton Smith, "The Black, Dead Thing" by Frank Belknap Long, and a reprint of Lovecraft's "Festival" (a Cthulhu mythos story) from a 1925 Weird Tales. All of the quintessential Weird Tales writers, characters, and artists come together in this single issue. An absolute must-have for any pulp collector or horror fan.
