Ken Kelly oils on board; a Huge 46.5" x 31"; 1995The cover painting for the novel "Warriors of the Way" by Harry Harrison was rendered with great skill by Ken Kelly. The emotionally charged image of a bellowing barbarian brandishing an axe in preparation for a bloody battle is enough to set anyone's heart pounding. The fine detail on the suit of armor and the prow of the warship are the sort of touches that make Kelly's work stand out from the pack. Taking a cue from his talented uncle, Frank Frazetta, Ken Kelly carves his own niche into the word of fantasy art and proves he has inherited the family gift for creating epic paintings of muscle-bound warriors.

Ken Kelly is an American fantasy artist known for his magazine covers and notably for painting the covers to the Kiss albums Destroyer and Love Gun. In addition to creating many covers for fantasy novels including a series of covers on books by Robert E. Howard, toy packaging on Mego's line of Micronauts figures and was one of the star cover artists on the Warren magazines Creepy and Eerie, in addition to Kiss, Kelly created album artwork for the bands Manowar, Rainbow, and Coheed and Cambria.
