Dear Comic Fans & Customers,
November has been a hectic month. I have been buying at a frenetic pace, finishing off our ads for Overstreet, creating a variety of new ads and promotions and have begun laying the groundwork for a Mid-2003 Metropolis Catalogue. Even though we are in the middle of a recession the market has shown some resiliency and is strong.
After analyzing this month’s sales records I have discovered some intriguing results. Mid-grade 1960s Marvels and DCs sold very well this month. Titles include Batman, Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor, Silver Surfer, Strange Tales, Tales of Suspense, X-Men, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Superman. 1950s issues of Action, Adventure and a whole host of Western titles were bought up at an alarming pace. I also recorded strong sales on Golden Age titles like All Star, Comic Cavalcade and King Comics.
Sales include: All Star 24 VG/FN $250; Avenger 33 VG $8.00; Batman 1 CGC graded GD- 1.8 $6,300.00; Batman 150 VG $30.00; Daredevil 16 FN+ $30.00; Fantastic Four #27 FN $55.00; Gunsmoke Western 73 VG- $9.00; King Comics 100 FN $50.00 and Wonder Woman 1 VG/FN $2,500.00.
In this month of Thanksgiving take some time out to remember all you have to be grateful for. Speaking on behalf of Stephen and the staff at Metropolis I would like to thank you all for your support.
