In this action-packed issue, Cyclops accidentally frees Super-Adaptoid from the interior of a mountain, where he was imprisoned by the Avengers. The evil robot covertly follows the X-Men back to their base to study them, and soon renders them unconscious, as the recently departed team-member Mimic returns to the base he is confronted by the Super-Adaptoid, and the two characters, whose skills are quite similar, fight each other to a standstill, eventually leading to the nullification of one another's powers, rendering Mimic a normal human once again and sending Super-Adaptoid into another state of imprisonment.
